Looking for a new home?

We have more than 9,500 properties across Staffordshire and Cheshire, ranging from one-bedroom bungalows to three-bedroom homes, two-bedroom flats and everything in-between.

Our properties are available through a choice-based lettings scheme, meaning you can search for and bid on a home that matches your requirements.

Our homes are advertised through a variety of websites, simply register with the sites which are more suited to your housing need to find your Aspire Housing home.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

You don’t need to pay a deposit for a social rent home. But you’ll need to pay your first month’s rent up front, which will be taken during the viewing.

Do I qualify to rent a home from Aspire Housing?

If you’re not sure if you qualify for social housing, head over to your local council’s website where they’ll be able to tell you.

Once we have been passed the shortlist from the local council we'll look at your income, your outgoings and your connection to the area.

I’m on benefits. Will Universal Credit cover my rent?

Universal Credit can contribute towards your housing costs, but the amount depends on:

  • Your income and savings
  • Your household composition
  • Your rental amount

To check your eligibility:

  • Log into your Universal Credit online account to message your work coach or case manager securely.
  • Call the Universal Credit helpline at 0800 328 5644 for direct assistance.
What should I do if I am homeless or at risk of homelessness?

If you’re at risk of homelessness or need emergency accommodation, contact your Local Authority immediately.

  • Reach out to the authority in the area where you currently live or where you wish to live.
  • They will provide guidance and support tailored to your situation.
Can I have a pet?

We love pets! They’re allowed in all our houses and bungalows and any home that’s got its own separate entrance. They’re not allowed in blocks of flats with communal entrances.

I’m already a customer and want to move. How do I exchange?

If your current home is too small, too large, or in the wrong location, you can apply for a move:

  • Register with your local authority’s lettings system.
  • Find a mutual exchange through HomeSwapper
How do you choose who you let a home to?

We’re fair in our approach to how we allocate our homes. We offer most of our homes through the local authority Housing Needs Registers and work with your local council to allocate homes through their eligibility and priority lists. You can find out more about how we let our homes in our allocations policy

Can I live close to my family?

To rent certain homes you must already live or work in the area or have close family living there. Local councils sometimes use these criteria in popular areas or for new builds.

I'm already a customer and my home is no longer suitable. I'd like to move into another Aspire Housing home, how can I apply for this?

You’ll need to apply through your local council.  Make sure you explain why your home is no longer suitable so your local council can get you into the right band. This is so you can then bid on homes that work better for you.

You can also swap your home with another Aspire Housing customer or social housing customer with a different housing association or local council.

We’d only switch you to another home if there’s an ‘immediate harm to life’. An example of this would be if you were experiencing domestic abuse and couldn’t safely look for another home.
