Move to town centre will delight customers

Aspire Housing’s customers will be able to access a range of services from a new town centre office later this year.

The company has secured office space in the old Eubanks store on Merrial Street, opposite Newcastle Borough Council’s Civic Offices.Plans are currently being drawn up for the offices, with work on site due to start in the next few weeks.

The decision to provide a town centre location was made, following thorough consultation with customers and staff, and is part of a wider review of all communication methods, to make life much easier for customers to access key services and information.

Will Nixon, Director of Operations at Aspire Housing, is leading the review and said:“Customers are at the heart of everything we do and we want to provide them with the best possible service.

He continued:“To do this, we know that it is vital to ensure that customers have easy access to all of our services. We are really excited about the changes ahead.

Will added:“Longer term plans include the launch of a new customer contact centre where at least 80% of calls to us to be dealt with by the person who answers the phone. We also plan to make our neighbourhood officers more visible within our communities to deal with customer enquiries within their own neighbourhoods.”

Aspire Housing plans to continue consulting customers to find out what they would like to see at the new offices, what services and information they would like to access and how they can get involved to make a real difference to their own neighbourhoods.

Staff will be available, outside the Guildhall in the town centre from 10am until 4pm on Friday 11 April, to talk to people about their needs and other services Aspire Housing can offer.Future roadshows will take place on 23 May, 13 June and 11 July.

The town centre office is due to open in the autumn, with a date yet to be finalised. Aspire Housing’s head office will remain on the Brampton.
