Mill Rise Village, located on the edge of Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre, will offer the first extra care retirement apartments in the Borough. Mill Rise promotes contemporary retirement living, combining an independent lifestyle with easy access to local facilities.
The village will contain a total of 60 exclusive apartments, available for both rent and shared ownership, with the build due for completion in May 2009.
In addition to the retirement apartments, the development will host a state-of-the-art health centre, operated by North Staffordshire Primary Care Trust (PCT), with three local GP practices, a pharmacy and NHS dentistry available to residents in the surrounding area.
Caroline Simpson, Director of Business Development at Aspire Housing, is thrilled and said:“We are really excited about the Mill Rise village and what will be on offer for people in the local community. The village environment provides everything an individual needs to live life to the full, with complete peace of mind."
Aspire Housing is asking anyone over the age of 55 who is interested in buying one of the 20 shared ownership apartments, to register their interest in the scheme now to avoid disappointment.
Dan Gray, Commercial Manager said:“We have worked hardto ensure that the shared ownership apartments are affordable and want to give people the best possible chance to access the scheme, as we recognise that most purchasers will have a property of their own to sell."
Life at Mill Rise offers people independent living in the privacy of their own home, combined with a range of opportunities to meet and socialise with like-minded neighbours.Residents will have access to a restaurant/bar, coffee shop, hair salon, allotments, a hobby room, gardens and lounge areas.
The organisations involved in the development understand the importance people place on security and personal safety. Therefore, the village will benefit from CCTV, a keyless door entry system, resident only areas, 24 hour telecare monitoring service and an on-site village manager.
Mill Rise is part of the RENEW North Staffordshire regeneration programme in Knutton and Cross Heath.
