Top marks for local housing company

Aspire Housing, has been given a major boost this week by having their high quality services confirmed by a ‘2 star with excellent prospects for improvement’ mock inspection result.

External consultants carried out a comprehensive inspection of the Newcastle-based housing service provider, using an identical process to that of the Audit Commission, the inspectorate of housing associations such as Aspire Housing.

Chief Executive Sinead Butters was delighted to hear the result.

“We knew that the services we provide are getting better and better, and wanted to prove this via external validation before our next visit by the Audit Commission.”

“One of our corporate objectives is to provide excellent services to all of our customers and to be one of the best housing providers in the country. This result proves that we’re well on our way to achieving this.”

The Audit Commission inspection results are based on a 0 to 3 star scoring of service quality, with poor to excellent prospects for improvement.

Will Nixon, Director of Operations, at Aspire Housing said:“We are absolutely delighted with the result, especially getting the highest level of ‘prospects for improvement’ possible. This is a clear demonstration that our business has been transformed since our last inspection in 2005, when we achieved a ‘1 star with promising prospects’ result.Although, we know that we can do even better.”
