Aspire Housing has spent over £6k since April 2007, backing local initiatives to help support the communities they work with.

Westbury & Clayton Youth Club are one of the groups that have benefited from the company’s support, receiving £600 this year to fund the purchase of their Thursday football league trophies.

The weekly football coaching sessions are available for local young people aged 7 to 14 years, supporting those who may have experienced learning and behavioural difficulties.

Paul Gregory, Director of Westbury & Clayton Youth Club, said: “Our football coaching sessions give young people something to really focus on and look forward to.

He continued:“The club can only operate with donations received from organisations such as Aspire Housing and we are continually looking to source further funding.We have a dedicated group of volunteers who provide cover for all of our sessions.”

Young people from the club gathered on Thursday 31 January to receive their trophies with awards given for commitment and dedication.

Lawrence Austin and Alex Jarrett were presented with a special award, presented only for individuals with exceptional attendance.Both joined the club in November 2001 and have attended every week since.

Caroline Simpson, Director of Business Development at Aspire Housing is thrilled with the work that the club are doing in the local community and said: “We are so very proud of all of the young people who take part in the football sessions and are delighted to be helping such initiatives to continue.

She added: “We would encourage other local groups to contact us to find out if they’re eligible to receive support from us.”
