Housing development in Knutton and Cross Heath

Residents in the Knutton and Cross Heath area are invited to attend an informative event on Saturday 23 February. The purpose of the event is to enable residents to find out more about the proposed housing development on the Collins and Aikman site off Lower Milehouse Lane, Knutton.They will have the opportunity to look at visual images of the Mill Rise extra care village and find out how they can become a resident of the development and be part of deciding the standards by which all future developments will be judged.

The new housing development will provide a mix of sale, shared ownership and social rental properties.

The consultation event on Saturday will enable residents to comment on the proposed estate layout principles, building design and road and pedestrian linkages to Knutton and Cross Heath.

At Saturday’s events, Bellway Homes, lead developer for the area, will be presenting initial ideas to residents on the architectural design and layout of future housing on the site. Representatives from Newcastle Borough Council and Aspire Housing will be present. Two events will be held from 10.00am until 2.00pm at Ramsey Road Community Centre and Cross Heath & Knutton Community Centre, Knutton Lane, Knutton.
