What is the service?

Aspire Housing Assisted Gardening Service service is designed to assist tenants who are struggling to maintain their gardens. The service will provide a schedule of works that you can expect in the form of a service standard e.g. how frequently the grass/ hedges will be cut.

There will be a criteria introduced to see if you are eligible to receive this service FREE OF CHARGE .

If you meet the following questions then please contact us to discuss your request further. We will need to assess your garden prior to you receiving the service. This will be carried out by asking you some basic questions about your gardens/ hedges etc. Following that you will receive a visit from a surveyor who will look at your garden prior to the teams commencing any works.

Are you eligible for this service?

In order that customers can be prioritised based on their needs,

• Aspire tenant with a clear rent account, no other breach of tenancy
• No non dependants living in the household
• Or where non dependant is on a qualifying benefit (see below)
• No friends or relatives who might be capable of carrying the requested works within the Borough
• Proof of disability

She/he must be in receipt of one of the following benefits, or deemed to be eligible for a benefit that they have not legitimately claimed for :

• Attendance allowance
• Disability living allowance – all types
• Severe disablement allowance
• Industry injury disablement benefit.
• War disablement pension
• Long-term incapacity benefit only

A percentage of places will be retained for any Aspire customer who may need short term assistance to maintain independent living or sustain a tenancy.
