Once within every 12 months
When your safety check is due we will write to with an appointment to let youknow when we will be calling at your home. If this appointment is not convenient simply contact us to arrange an alternative date for us to visit you.
Our engineer will then call round at the arranged date to carry out the work. If you are not in, the engineer will leave a no access card and a letter will be sent asking you to contact us to arrange another visit at a convenient time for you.
If we don't hear from you, we will visit again 7 days later. If access is still not gained we will send another letter explaining why it is vital that the safety check is carried out which asks you to contact us again to arrange another visit at a convenient time.
More information on our Gas Service Programme can be found here >>
Final notice
If we still hear nothing, we will arrange a further visit delivered by hand or registered post. If access is not gained again, we then issue a formal 'final notice', instructing you that we will start legal action for recovery of the property or an injunction to gain entry to the property to carry out the gas service.
Better safe than sorry
Faulty appliances can cause explosions and can also give off poisonous carbon monoxide fumes, with a possibility of fatal consequences. WE therefore have a legal duty to make sure properly qualified gas engineers check all of our gas appliances every year. The HSE provide information on the number of gas related incidents per year >>.
Aspire customers have a legal duty to allow Aspire staff into their homes to carry out annual gas checks. If you do not allow, we WILL take legal action to gain access.
