Who is it for

All new customers of Aspire Housing - If you are moving into one of our homes, you can book up to 2 hours of the handyman's time within 3 months of moving into your new home.

Vulnerable customers that need help because of a medical illness or disability, or because there are no family or friends who can help.

What job can be ordered?

Any small jobs around the house that do not require immediate attention.

The range of jobs that you can order are listed below. If you have any other small jobs that require help with please contact us and we will see if the handyman service can assist.

What does the handyman service provide?

The handyman is a skilled person who has the tools and equipment needed to carry out your job.

You will need to provide materials for the job, although our work person carries small items such as screws and nails

What jobs are covered by the handyman service?

• Assemble flat pack furniture
• Fix up shelves or shelving units
• Fit curtain tracks, poles or blinds
• Fit additional door locks
• Fit door security chains, bars and/or soy holes
• Fit bolts/locks to gate or shed doors
• Connect a washing machine or dishwasher
• Put up a washing line to existing posts or hooks
• Fit a rotary dryer ground socket
• Bleed radiators
• Fit wall brackets for hanging baskets..etc
• Fit a plug and chain to bath, basin or sink
• Trim internal doors to fit new carpets or floor coverings
• Fix up wall brackets/holders for appliances or pictures..etc
• Change a smoke alarm battery
• Change light bulbs/tube/starters
• Fix down or trim floor covering
• Remove or replace lamp shades, curtains, pelmets..etc
• Install minor aids and adaptations
• Other jobs will be taken on if appropriate for the handyman
