consultation and participation
If we plan to change how we manage, maintain, improve or demolish any of our houses, or plan to change the services connected with them, we will tell you about the proposals before they happen. If plans relate to a specific area, for example, an estate, we will only consult the customers who live there.
We may consult customers individually or in groups. If appropriate, we will also consult people who are on our housing list. We may also consult you in any of the following ways:
- By letter or a specially produced leaflet setting out the proposals to all those affected or to a representative sample (at least 5% of those affected)
- By personal visit
- By public meetings
- By an invitation to look at a similar project
Your local residents’ association or the customer panel may also hold meetings to discuss a particular issue. When we ask you for your views, you will have the chance to comment within a set time. When the deadline for comments has passed, we will look at views and comments and will review and finalise our proposal.
If we have consulted you, we will tell you about the final decision (by writing to you or through our newsletter). If you want more information on resident involvement and on how to become more involved, please contact the Resident Involvement Team on 01782 635200.
