Nuisance and/or damage caused by pets
If there is evidence that a pet is causing nuisance or annoyance to other persons who live in the area, or if it causes a public or environmental health hazard appropriate action will be taken.
The Neighbourhood Officer will fully investigate the complaints and liaise with external agencies such as the Local Authority Dog Warden and the RSPCA.
They will inform the customer of the complaints and allow them reasonable time to remedy the situation.
If the nuisance continues the Neighbourhood Officer will take further action. This could include legal action being taken under the Anti-Social Behaviour Policy on the grounds of nuisance.
Damage caused to property by pets
Damaged or infestations caused by pets owned by customers or their visitors will be recharged.
Neighbourhood Officers will recharge in accordance to the Recharge Policy and procedure.
