homelessness what you need to know

If you are either homeless or threatened with homelessness you can arrange an appointment for a housing options interview. During this interview, we will:

  • ask you some questions about your situation;
  • advise you of what assistance we can offer;
  • agree the next course of action with you. This will depend on your circumstances, but may include arranging for you to stay in temporary accommodation until we are able to complete our enquiries, or until permanent accommodation is available.

You will be notified in writing of our decision as to whether you are accepted as homeless, and this letter will inform you of your right to have the decision reviewed if you are not satisfied with it.

Even if we find that we do not have a legal duty to assist you, we can offer advice and assistance to help you to find a home.
