Mill Rise is an award winning and innovative development, the first extra care accommodation in Newcastle-under-Lyme for people aged 55 and over. Developed in partnership with North Staffordshire Primary Care Trust, Newcastle Borough Council and Staffordshire County Council.
The development is like a mini village with its own hairdressers’ salon, restaurant/coffee shop, bar, social facilities/rooms, allotments and more. There are 3 on site GP practices. These facilities are available to residents of Mill Rise and the wider community.
Mill Rise has bought people together in a warm, social environment where new friendships (and even old) can blossom. Facilities include: Residents’ lounge, Hobby room, Laundry room, Buggy storage Door entry system with CCTV, Full wheelchair accessible Services Include: 24-hour CareCALL system Staff available 24 hours a day to provide care and support, Hot meals delivered and Assisted bathing.
Mill Rise has 60 apartments, of which 40 are rented and 20 Shared Ownership (part-buy part-rent).
This development is specifically for people aged 55 and over. Priority has been given to people who meet the health needs criteria set by the partner agencies.
