Six brand new affordable homes have become available for residents in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
The Orme Road development marks the first significant investment in new-build homes within the Poolfields estate for a generation, creating six high-quality family homes, all of which are available for affordable rent through Aspire Housing.
Dan Gray, Executive Director of Property at Aspire Housing, said: “We’re delighted to be able to increase our affordable housing offer in such a prime location.
“The two sites at Orme Road have remained vacant for many years as underused open space. We acquired the land through the stock transfer from Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council and identified that they could be successfully developed to provide new homes to help meet the need for rented homes in the local area, and we’re pleased to help meet that demand.
“We’ve built six modern two-bed houses across both sites, all of which have been designed to meet the high-quality aspirational standard that is rightly expected by residents. We’re excited to offer these new homes in an ideal location for working families, just a few minutes’ drive away from both the town centre and Keele University.”
Aspire Housing has invested nearly £700k into the development, which includes £300k of government funding.
