Aspire Housing is breathing new life into Brighton House in Silverdale, Newcastle-under-Lyme, with a renovation that will create much-needed new homes for over 55s, having bought this former care home in December 2017.
We are converting the former care home into 19 individual properties, which will be made available for Affordable Rent and will comprise a new community living scheme for Aspire Housing.
Our community living schemes are specifically designed for over 55s – combining safe and secure accommodation with services to help residents live as independently as possible. Each residence is entirely self-contained, with its own front door to outside space, whilst still offering the assurance of help and support when required.

Aspire Housing bought Brighton House last year and we have been renting it since to the NHS for their ‘step down’ service; providing nursing care to patients discharged from hospital. The property will be returned to Aspire in Spring 2019 and will be refurbished for its permanent future use during 2019.
Including the purchase of the property we will be investing up to £2m into this worthwhile project and have also secured grant funding from Homes England to support the project.
Our wellbeing service will run from the new scheme with dedicated provision of services each day – supporting residents with anything from financial issues and health needs to safety concerns.
Work on the site will begin from Spring 2019 and will be completed around April 2020.
