Maintaining your home
Regular maintenance keeps your home safe, comfortable, and helps prevent costly repairs. Here’s what you need to know:
- Check your home regularly: Look out for leaks, damp, and other issues. Report any concerns to Aspire Housing as soon as possible.
- How to report repairs: You can request a repair on MyAccount, by email, via our online chat facility, or by contacting our Customer Excellence team on 01782 635200. Please provide details about the issue and any potential hazards.
- Safety checks by law: Aspire must service your gas supply every year and check electrics every 5 years.
- Property access: You must allow Aspire access to your home for repairs, safety checks, upgrades, and inspections. Please keep communal areas clear for our teams.
- Notice of entry: Aspire will give you at least 24 hours’ written notice before entering your home for non-emergency reasons.
- Can’t be present? Let us know if you can’t attend a scheduled inspection so we can arrange another time.
- Legal requirement: Refusing access for essential repairs or safety checks can lead to legal action, especially if it affects your neighbours or is required by law.
- Boiler care: Learn how to look after your boiler for safety and efficiency. If you ever smell gas, open your windows and call Aspire Housing and the gas emergency services immediately.
