Aspire Housing’s Chief Executive was honoured with a major award win this week at a leading industry awards ceremony.

Sinéad Butters MBE DUniv. BA(Hons), Group Chief Executive of Aspire Housing, was crowned ‘Chief Executive of the Year’ at 24Housing Magazine’s annual awards ceremony, finishing ahead of hundreds of industry leaders from across the country.

The award recognised the company’s growth and numerous accolades during Sinéad’s 12-year stint at the helm, as well as her critical role in support of communities and promoting opportunities for young people across our region.

Sinéad commented: “As a company, we aim to be ambitious, creative and collaborative throughout everything we do, and the fantastic teams I work beside have truly embodied this philosophy. They deserve all the credit for this award.”

This is the latest in a series of accolades Sinéad has received this year, having also been recognised as a go-to national housing commentator by 24Housing, which named her a top six Power Player for the immense work she has done in the sector.

This summer, Sinéad was granted two honorary doctorates from Staffordshire universities, and – under Sinéad’s leadership – Aspire Housing placed seventh in 24Housing’s annual Top 50 Landlords list, nominated for “being brave enough to set its own course to address the needs of its customers and communities.”

Aspire Housing, in conjunction with its training business PM Training, was also shortlisted for the ‘Best Training Scheme’ award for their collaborative work creating a new standard of apprenticeships for the housing sector.

Sinéad continued: “We are in our 10th year working together with PM Training, without whom the development of this training scheme wouldn’t have been possible, and how wonderful it is that we go from strength to strength.”

Mark Lawrence, Editor of 24Housing Magazine, commented: "The judges said they were overwhelmed by how much Sinéad has achieved. And they are right.

"On many occasions, Sinéad has shown she is invaluable to the sector. Time and time again she has delivered for her tenants, communities and the sector as a whole. A true inspiration and one of the people that aspiring and future leaders look up to."
