Are you an Aspire customer?

Are you interested in having your say and would you like to help make the important decisions that impact the lives of Aspire colleagues, customers and communities?

During Autumn 2023 we will be delivering a Trainee Customer Board Member Programme, which will be available to all Aspire Housing customers. The programme will provide support, mentoring and training to customers who wish to explore the option of Board Membership. The programme will cover areas such as;

  • How to challenge and support the Executive Team and other Board members.
  • How to understand and interpret financial information in reports such as budgets, business plans and financial statements.
  • The responsibilities and role of Board members.
  • The governance Structure of Aspire.
  • Legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding risk – our external operating environment, internal risk framework, risk appetite and the Board’s role in managing risk.

Once you have completed the Programme, you will have the opportunity to become a Customer Board Member as part of our current Aspire Housing Board or have your say in other ways – as an involved customer or become an OASIS Group member (a group made up entirely of Aspire customers who provide challenge and oversight in all areas of Aspire).

Taking part in the training programme will offer some great rewards

  • Development of skills and knowledge to enable you to become a Board member.
  • The opportunity to become a Board Member on the Aspire Housing Board.
